A Great 47th Annual Construction and Public Contracts Conference

I have often extolled the virtues of the Construction and Public Contracts section of the Virginia State Bar.  Aside from the Construction Law Handbook and the Critical Path newsletter to keep all of us Virignia construction attorneys up to date, you will get to know some good lawyers that like to solve rather than create problems.

Enough of why you, as a lawyer that practices construction law, should join the section, this is a report on the 47th Annual Construction Law and Public Contracts seminar.  As always, the chance to catch up with friends, both new and old, at the conference.  As I get older, I meet more and more new construction law practitioners and am more than happy to share what I’ve learned over a long time practicing in this area of law.  I hope I can be half the resource for such “wisdom” as those that were kind enough to answer some of my questions (and continue to do so even today) and pass on their wisdom as well.

Along with the great networking, the topics were, as always, interesting and provided the full boat of CLE for the year.  These topics ranged from an ethics presentation filled with limericks to AI and experts to creative financial arrangements, both good and bad, that our clients can use.  In short, even an experienced Virginia construction attorney can find something new in the program so this is not just for those that still need the basics of a mechanic’s lien.

In short (I know…too late), I had a great time this year and highly recommend that any lawyer that practices even a small amount in the construction law area attend the 48th Annual seminar next year on November 4 and 5, 2027.

As always, I welcome your comments below.  Please subscribe to keep up with this and other Construction Law Musings.
