Green Building and Jazz- What Could be Better?

Green Legal Matters 2010As I announced via my Posterous page (where I posted the registration form), the folks at the Green Legal Matters Symposium asked me to speak.  My good buddy Scott Wolfe (@scottwolfejr) of the Wolfe Law Group and the Construction Law Monitor will be my co-presenter.   The luminaries speaking at the symposium include my fellow attorneys and friends Shari Shapiro (@sharishapiro) of the Green Building Law Blog, and Tim Hughes (@vaconstruction) of the Virginia Real Estate, Land Use & Construction Law blog, among others (check out the web site for the full list, it is truly impressive).

Green Legal Matters is the first green legal symposium, and will be held from April 26 through 28th in New Orleans, LA.  Here’s a brief description of the topics discussed directly from the GLM press release (click the link for the full release):

Attendees will learn about mitigating environmental risk, compliance with EPA, DOJ, OSHA and regulatory bodies, green building architecture, and how to build a green legal practice.  Conference topics will range from LEEDigation, to Green Washing and Green Remediation, to Green Product labeling and Working Smarter with Green.

Even better, the conference will be held right after the first weekend of Jazz Fest.  I plan on getting there early to catch some great music before diving into some learning and fun at the conference on Monday.

I can’t imagine a better combination of fun and learning for a construction attorney than New Orleans, Jazz Fest and Green Building. . . can you?

UPDATE: The Green Legal Matters conference has been rescheduled to October 13 through 15, 2010.  Check out the website after June 8, 2010 for more.
