As I sit here today contemplating the 4th of July and Independence Day, I find it appropriate that this holiday comes a year (almost to the day) from when I jumped into solo practice.  Cutting ties with my old firm and heading out on my own was a great decision and one that I would make again if I had it to do over again.  I am most thankful to my family (particularly my wife) and a great set of friends for the support and encouragement.  Without this support, the venture would not have been half so successful.

Now, it’s time to take a break for a day to spend time with family and friends thinking about the greater freedoms that allowed me to spread my wings and to reflect on the great country (warts and all) in which we live.

Here’s wishing you all the best on this 4th of July from Construction Law Musings.  I hope that your holiday is a great one!
