Thoughts on construction law from Christopher G. Hill, Virginia construction lawyer, LEED AP, mediator, and member of the Virginia Legal Elite in Construction Law

Five Years of Construction Law Musings (and Counting)

Happy 5th to MusingsWow!  Who would have thought that when I posted my 2 line announcement of my Blogger platform blog five years ago that this blog would still be going strong much less still be in existence.

Even today, the 5 year anniversary of Construction Law Musings, I am amazed at the great response that I have gotten from all of you, the readers of this little construction law blog.  Now, after over 550 posts including close to 200 Guest Post Friday posts from great contributors, Musings has taken on a life of its own.  Since that humble (and short) beginning 5 years ago, I started my solo practice (3 years plus on my own now), got certified and recertified as a Virginia Supreme Court certified mediator, and have been selected for the 7th year running to the Virginia Business Legal Elite in Construction (thanks again to all that voted for me).

Since starting Musings, I have met many folks that I could not have met otherwise.  The real world (as opposed to online) friendships have been a blessing.  The blog has also helped me to stay current on the latest in Virginia construction law in my efforts to avoid writers block (thanks to Virginia Lawyers Weekly and others for this).  In short, the last 5 years have been rewarding and fun thanks to all of you.

So, without further ado, thank you to all of you who read Construction Law Musings.  Thank you to all of my friends and colleagues who support this construction law blog and my construction law practice (you know who you are and it would take weeks to list you all).  And, saving the best for last, thank you to my great family for all that you do to support me in my solo career and my life in general.  You all have made the last five years of Construction Law Musings a fun and rewarding ride.

  1. Congratulations Chris! I’m almost 1 year exactly behind you, but cannot claim to have the consistency that you exhibit week after week after week………! Keep up the good work.

  2. Thanks Melissa. It is thanks to guest posters and bloggers like you that I can get past the weekly writers block. A year is a big deal.
